What has your week been like? A week like no other for us all.
This week I have been able to get to more prayer gatherings than ever before. I have gone from my bedroom into the office and connected with others to pray using amazing technology called Zoom.
Aptly name I have been able to zoom around the globe, all hours of the day and night with ease. Zoom has allowed me to connect with the church in Iran, other watchmen from the nations, our nation and the 6.30am Tuesday GCF prayer gathering.
Isaiah 52:8 talks about the watchmen lifting up their voices, singing and worshipping together, seeing eye to eye as the Lord brings back Zion.
Our prayer posture has changed. Even though we are looking at each other eye to eye using a screen, the presence of God is as tangible as ever as we lift up our voices together. It’s exciting, it’s a new thing!
I especially love The Message version of Jesus words in Matthew 11:28-30
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a
real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep
company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.
Jesus Words are vital instruction for how we can live free and light in this challenging time we find ourselves in.
If we are under anything heavy or ill fitting Jesus never put it there. Jesus wants us to get away with Him, walk with Him, work with Him, watch how He does it and I love this: learn the unforced rhythms of grace. Now that’s beautiful! That is stress-free living, learning better and new ways to do life. Becoming a disciple of Jesus.
Personal prayer or communicating with God and others in a community of Spirit ensures we get away with Jesus, we recover our lives, we live out of rest, our souls are quieted and refreshed. We find ourselves ready and able to face a week like no other if needed.
