Mark & Faye

Faye joined Gateways Christian Fellowship (then Christian Centre) in 1980 when she moved to Palmerston North to study at Massey University. She spent some time away, firstly in YWAM Australia, and then in China. On her engagement to Mark (1994), they served together with the Overseas Christian Fellowship at Massey University, Operation Friendship, and also on the church’s MAPP team.

After being blessed with the addition of Amy and Joshua to their family, the Lord started to speak to them about being ready to serve overseas. This led to a quite miraculous process which resulted in them serving in a West African nation for over 20 years. Mark worked at a small medical centre that grew out of a leprosy centre, and was also involved in outreach in the town and surrounding villages. Faye supported Mark, was involved in administrative support on the mission compound, and was part of a team teaching literacy to women in prison.
